Superbowl XLI: Da Bears!!!!

We love Sunday football, but but there's definitely something special about it when the whole family gets into it.

I'm proud of the girls. They really love watching the Bears' games with us. I'm very glad that even though we live in Indianapolis, we can still watch most all of the games. (When we can't, we just have to go to Grandma and Grandpa Kellogg's for the weekend ;-)) In the picture above, the Bears had already won the game, and it was fort building time. Was this structure in honor of the Bears' win? Come on, destruction of the house and rebuilding for their personal use is what that is all about, duh!

When Haele isn't around, I like to "borrow" her Urlacher jersey. It's a perfect size for me and it makes it much cuter when I say "Go Bears" with my arms in the air. True story. I hear mom and dad say it all the time, so why not?

By the way, please don't tell my big sis. I'd like to wear it again. Wait a minute, maybe mom and dad should get ME one, too? After all, I did cheer the Bears along to the Super Bowl...where's my reward?

Thanksgiving and Christmas w/ the Cousins

We get along so much better than Mommy and Uncle Adam ever did!!!!

Payton loves giving out hugs to her cousins!

From left to right: Monster, Monster's mom, and precious princess baby.

Are they hugging or wrestling? Hmmm.

Jordans Love Chocolate!

Finally, something recent!!! This was taken during a little going away party a friend threw (~2 months ago). There was all kinds of food, but the only thing Payton was interested in, of course, was the chocolate.

(I wonder if any of it ended up in her mouth?)

A look into the past: Christmas 2005

Christmas festivities can be really tiring for a 9-month-old.
We were decorating the tree and dancing to Christmas music and Payton couldn't take it anymore. Good times.

A look into the past: Six-months-old and already an avid Bears' fan

This is from last season as well. As you can see,
Payton has always been pretty excited about football. Daddy doesn't even take his attention from the game for us to take this picture! Payton is six months in this picture.

Bears - 31 points. TB - 31 points. Missed field goal in OT - 0 points. Winning 1rst and Goal field goal in OT, priceless.

My hands are still shaking from watching that game. This is Payton after Robbie missed the first field goal in OT.

I thought it was good; Payton knew better. (See Disclaimer #1)

You can cut the tension with a knife. What is going on?!? (See Disclaimer #2.)

Phew! Thanks, Robbie for helping the Bears clinch home field advantage. (Also see Disclaimer #2.)

Disclaimer #1: This picture is actually from last season. Payton's reaction was still priceless, because the Bears and Kyle Orton were not winning that one. That's what I get for trying to "stage" a Payton touchdown. She's smarter than that.

Disclaimer #2: Obviously not the same game as Disclaimer #1, this game was last season as well. But, the outcome of that one was a Bears' win -- just like today!

GO BEARS!!!!!!!!

Where is that egg?

This was Payton's first Easter as well as her first experience with the Kellogg Easter tradition of looking for the candy that the "Easter Bunny" hid the night before. Everyone participates and "helps" by issuing the hints "cold", "colder", "warm", "hot", "on fire!" (as shown here).

Hopefully, you get the good room to search and hopefully the dog doesn't find your candy first.

Though this wasn't Haele's first Easter candy hunt experience, you can tell it takes several years of practice to get really good. By the way, she was so much "warmer" than she thought. This was the last egg for her to find. By the way, after an exhaustive search she finally found it :-)

No Payton! You have to unwrap the foil before you eat it! Another beginner's mistake.

This was a very special Easter because Kyle and both of the girls were baptized at Redeemer Presbyterian. It was very moving. And with good timing, Payton was teething her first molar. It made the whole experience that much more memorable.
